Republicans In The NewsCavey says: Oliver Indictment is Also An Indictment of One-Party RuleFor Immediate Release Monday, January 5, 2009 Baltimore County Republican Party Chair Chris Cavey issued the following statement following the indictment of Democrat County Councilman Ken Oliver: "The Baltimore County Republican Party calls on Democrat Councilman Ken Oliver to resign, and we point out that these are the type of ‘mistakes’ that can happen in a one-party system where there are no checks and balances. The indictment of Democrat County Councilman Ken Oliver is also an indictment of unchecked one-party Democrat rule in Baltimore County. Democrats control virtually every office in Baltimore County. In this corrupt culture, special interests reign supreme, there is little accountability, transparency in government and ‘mistakes’ will continue. The Baltimore County Republican Party will be reminding voters in 2010 that a robust, two party system is essential for clean and honest government and MBA’s from Morgan University shouldn’t be sloughing-off campaign finance mistakes." |
